Winter Weather and Parking Lot Concerns

Good evening GADA Families!

We just wanted to let everyone know that we realize some winter weather is expected for Saturday morning. As of now, we WILL be holding Saturday classes and rehearsals at REGULARLY scheduled times. At this point, they are predicting main ice concerns to be west of the interstate. Should we feel weather is a safety concern in the morning, we would email to state otherwise. But for now, we plan on being open and holding all planned activities.

On school days we always follow the Round Rock ISD weather school closures. However, this year we have modified out delayed start for morning classes. Should Round Rock be on a delayed schedule, we will DELAY MORNING CLASSES by 1 hour, but they will still meet. Should Round Rock cancel classes, we will cancel classes as well. However, we will always keep emails and messages up to date with this information as best we can! Personally, I’m hoping this is the only arctic blast we see this season:)

As the weather gets colder, we do have a few concerns about parking lot safety. Please do not stop your car in front of the main entrance and wait for dancers. We realize this is tempting in freezing weather, but this causes backup in the traffic flow and is unsafe for dancers to walk between moving cars. If you are dropping off or picking up dancers, please use the circle drive at the main entrance. Otherwise, please simply park your car in a parking space so we can help traffic move freely, as well as help ensure safety of all dancers walking to and from cars. We appreciate everyone’s immediate attention to this matter!

Stay warm!
