Dress Code

GADA does not enforce strict color requirements but does require specific attire based on class type. Proper dance attire ensures safety and allows instructors to observe alignment and technique.

Intro to Movement / Creative Movement I

Tights, leotard, pink ballet shoes (skirts are fine). Boys: black ballet shoes.

Creative Movement II / BT I / BT II

Tights, leotard (any color), black tap shoes, pink ballet shoes. Boys: black shoes.

Ballet

Pink tights, any black leotard, hair pulled up in bun or braid.

Tap

Black tap shoes (transition to oxford tap shoes at higher levels).

Jazz

Any color leotard, shorts or leggings (tights optional), tan jazz shoes.

Hip Hop

Comfortable clothing, hip-hop sneakers (studio-only use required).

Contemporary / Lyrical

Dance pants, form-fitting tank or t-shirt, tan jazz shoes (may be barefoot or turners).

Musical Theater

Jr: activewear + clean athletic shoes. L1–2: activewear + tan jazz shoes. L3–4: activewear + tan character heels.

Boys (All Styles)

Black pants or athletic shorts, white t-shirt. Black ballet shoes, black jazz shoes, or lace-up black tap shoes.

Acro

Form-fitting clothing (no loose fabric), bare feet.

General Rules

  • No street shoes on studio floors.
  • Hair must be secured away from face.
