My Bio
Lauren Simpson began dancing at Greater Austin Dance Academy at age three and danced at the studio until her senior year of high school. She has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, acro, contemporary, lyrical, modern, and pom. Lauren was a part of the Heartsong Company from ages 9-18, where she traveled to both coasts to perform and grow her love for dance, as well as compete at regional competitions. She was a member of the Weiss Scarlets dance team for four years and was Captain for 2, where she led her team on the football field and the competition stage. She has been working for Crowdpleasers Dance for three years, facilitating and instructing hundreds of dancers around Texas. Lauren is actively pursuing a BFA in Dance Education at the University of Texas at Austin, where she has performed in multiple showcases and student projects and was part of a piece selected for adjudication at the ACDA conference. She was also a part of the University of Texas Dance Team, where they competed at NDA nationals in Daytona, Florida, in the D1A division with team Hip hop and jazz. Throughout college, she has set choreography for solos, duets, trios, small groups, and team dances. Lauren is excited to join the Greater Austin Dance Academy staff and hopes to give back to a community that has given her so much!
